All roads lead to UNO high School as its students and faculty members join the school’s administration in celebrating its 50th Foundation with the theme ‘UNO at 50: Hallmarks of Gold,’ a three fun-filled day program from November 6, 7, and 9, 2009 at the school grounds. A school fair has been prepared for the golden occasion, highlighted with a musical concert entitled “Uno Rocks at 50” featuring Spongecola, Callalily, and Hale to be held at the Don Domingo Yu Chu gymnasium on November 7, 2009.
Andy Tan, president of UNO High School Alumni Association, Inc., also announced that UHSAAI will pay tribute to its alma mater when it celebrates its own 20th year and 21st annual homecoming on November 8, 2009. Dubbed as ‘Journey to Gold,’ it will be held at Le Pavillon, Metrobank Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, with cocktails at 4:30 pm and onwards to the evening program.
Aside from welcoming this year’s jubilarians, this year’s President’s Choice Award recipients (for outstanding alumni) are movie producer Robbie Tan for film entertainment and veteran Olympian Nathaniel ‘Tac’ Padilla for sports. Entertainment numbers include the glow-in-the-dark synchronized Chinese dragon and drum performers of the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Association and special appearances of Pooh and K Brosas. The UHSAAI is open for Ondoy Assistance Fund Drive (posted 9/29/2009)
In the tradition of the Unean Charity, the UHSAAI has started the UHSAAI Ondoy Assistance Fund Drive. For those who would like to volunteer for the UHSAAI Manaoag Medical Mission, please submit your name and T-shirt size on or before August 15, 2009. Please contact the Alumni Office and look for Ferly. The Manaoag Medical Mission is scheduled on September 6, 2009. Assembly time will be at Uno High School on September 5, 2009 at 11:00 p.m.
The much awaited event by our very own, Francis Kong, is scheduled on September 4, 2009 at the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia Complex. This learning event aptly titled Culture of Personal Excellence (COPE) is launched by Inspire Leadership Consultancy in partnership with Francis in bringing the first of its kind experiential learning event that will surely bring your personal effectiveness to a new level. Uno Alumni Association Basketball League 2009 (posted 7/16/2009, updated 7/30/2009)
The 20th Uno High School Alumni Basketball League is on its 2nd round. Please check the updated standings for your team. Also please check here for a complete list of schedules.
The Uno Alumni Basketball League cordially invites all Alumni of Uno High School & friends to the Opening Ceremony of the 2009 Season of the Uno Alumni Association Basketball Tournament. The Opening Ceremony will be on June 7, 2009 at 8:00 am and will be held at the Don Domingo Yu Chu Gymnasium.
Breakfast will be served to all players followed by the Opening Ceremony. Plaques of Appreciation will also be awarded as well as a Turn-Over ceremony of emergency equipment.
There will be a free throw shooting contest among the participating teams. Two (2) games will kick off the start of the basketball tournament. Click here for the complete list of lineups and participating teams.
Warming up for the 2009 Manaoag Medical Mission (posted 6/01/2009, updated June 07, 2009)
The 2nd Medical Mission was spearheaded by our partners from UP-PGH. The Doctors who helped during the event are the following: Dr. Juan Antonio Ricarte, Dr. Ma. Cesar C. del Rosario, Dr. Aaron Joseph K. Tiu, Dr. Ray joseph R. Baduly, Dr. Jan Melvin M. Zapanta, Dr. Ambrosio Jumangit III, Dr. Rachelle Joanne C. Tugano, and Dr. Jade Marie Edenvirg F. Lasiste. Once again we are inviting Alumni members to the upcoming September 2009 Manaoag visit. Please visit the site often for updates.
Every year around June the UHSAAI facilitates a medical mission at the Uno Grounds before the September Manaoag visit. Last Sunday, May 31, 2009, the UHSAAI had its warm-up medical mission together with the doctors of PGH. The medical mission was a success considering the bad weather and the turnout count of patients is 287. This mission was sponsored by Ong Ang Ko (Cheng Siu Piak) as a thanksgiving offer. The UHSAAI hopes to see everyone in the September 2009 Manaoag visit. Details will be announced soon.
